I've seen some requests for information on Reddit about how to build a cyberdeck as a "kit". So far as I've read, it seems like every cyberdeck is very much a custom build, unique to the person who built it, though there are often commonalities.
However, I think we could probably settle on some possible configurations of components that we know work for the electronic hardware part of a basic build. The guts, as it were. We might also need to add some github links for the image files to make the hardware cooperate for a quick start.
So, here's what I'd like to see in here:
Parts list, with purchase links, of a configuration of hardware that works.
The case is up to the end user to figure out.
To anyone reading this looking at building their own from this list:
We will try to give you information in good faith, but we make no guarantees about any products or software you may get to build your cyberdeck. Links may change, and most likely we do not control what software is actually distributed at the download point, and so we are not responsible for anything that may happen while building your deck. Just keep in mind going in that the parts or software suppliers may change their products without notice, and they may or may not work. A lot of times we ourselves have ended up having bought more parts than ended up in our final builds.
