SkyZone Power Mod For HDZero

Ok, so I have Skyzone Sky04X goggles and I was a bit annoyed by having those two connector to plug in every time. I was thinking about getting the power from goggles connector and hiding the converter in the module bay of the goggles. Today I saw a post on FB that someone done exactly that, so I've done it too and I took some photos.

First warning: Be careful when you open your goggles as there are fragile ribbon cables connecting the screens to motherboard! There is also power switch connector you have to unplug.

Unplug the ribbon cable connecting the module bay and you can remove it from the goggles.

I didn't want to cut any holes for the wires. Fortunatelly there are perfect holes for the airflow (converter will get some cooling in the module bay as well, that's good)

Solder two wires to the goggles power input jack and use the existing holes to get them to the bay. Then you can solder the wires to the converter in the module bay, and get the output wire through the antenna connector hole in the bay cover

Be careful with ribbon cables when assembling the goggles and always check the polarity when soldering wires to the converter. It's clean, no need to cut holes, easily reversible.
